SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Many across the country are stepping up to help those affected by the devastating Texas floods, including one Valley restaurant.
This Sunday, July 13, Roaring Fork in Scottsdale is donating 100% of its sales to Texas Hill County Relief. The restaurant will collect every dollar spent during happy hour, dinner and takeout to send funds to flood relief organizations supporting aid in central Texas.
“Our thoughts are with all of those affected, as well as the courageous recovery teams tirelessly working to help those in need,” the owner of Roaring Fork said.
However, generosity from the food service doesn’t just mean restaurants here in Arizona. A 10-year-old in Texas who recently attended camp in Texas Hill Country wanted to do something good and help those impacted by the floods.
Pazlee Spielman was a camper at Camp Mystic earlier this summer. She set up a ”lemon-aid” stand outside her family’s home in Bryan, Texas, and is donating all the funds to relief organizations.
“She just has a heart bigger than the state of Texas, As a mom, it makes me feel like I’m doing something right. I feel like it’s a win,” said Shania Spielman, Pazlee’s mother. “She just went to camp earlier this summer and…I was a mama that got to pick my baby up. Our hearts are just with those that didn’t get to do that.”
