TEXARKANA, Ark. — Local rescue organization Texarkana Animal League is holding a St. Puprick’s Day party that will make folks want to tip their hats.
Chrissie McJunkins, one of the league’s board members, said the event will feature animals for adoption and raise funds for the organization. Live music will be performed by Jay Kirgis, Special Reserve and traditional Irish band O’Malley’s Prayer.
“The goal is to raise $3,500,” McJunkins said.
An auction will include items from Twisted Fork, Old Tyme Burger, Mr. Floor Cleaner, ColorHype, Cracker Barrel, J. Brown for the Home and Butters Bakery for Pets. There also will be Texarkana Symphony Orchestra tickets and dog jewelry.
The event will also have food trucks, animal-oriented vendors and costume contests for humans and dogs, as well as games and prizes.
TAL’s St. Puprick’s Day party will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crossties, 324 E. Broad St. Admission will be $5 and will go toward fundraising efforts. To learn more about Texarkana Animal League, visit
