The St. Augustine Society is hosting a Fall Fling Festival on Sept. 28 from noon to 5 p.m. at the St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club, 401 Gun Club Road.
Festival funds will support the Clean Start laundry facility at the Goff Family Shelter, 64 Washington St., which is currently undergoing its last bit of repair for damages caused by Hurricanes Matthew and Irma.
Joy Case, the society’s director of development, described the simplicity of a washing machine and a dryer as making a significant impact in the lives of those in need.
“Kids go to school in clean clothes ready to learn, parents can attend job interviews with confidence, and families can focus on moving forward instead of worrying about basic needs,” she said in a news release.
The Fall Fling Festival includes a charity cornhole tournament, a fall market, food vendors (Salt Run Barbecue, Frankie’s Franks, and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee), hayrides, bounce houses, a cider bar, games, face painting, live bluegrass music by the St. Augustine High School Band and more.

Salt Run Barbecue will be among the food trucks at the Fall Fling Festival sponsored by the St. Augustine Society Inc. to raise money for a laundry facility at the Goff Family Shelter in Lincolnville.
Vendor tables are still available. To purchase tickets or register as a vendor, visit https://www.stfrancisshelter.org/events/fallfling.
Fiesta Falls Miniature Golf at La Fiesta Ocean Inn & Suites is the presenting sponsor for the festival. Island Prep School is the venue sponsor for the St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club. To inquire about sponsorship opportunities, visit here or contact Kate Batzel at [email protected].
