Metro Wire Staff

Pacelli Catholic Middle School volleyball players raised over $1,000 for childhood cancer awareness during their annual Pink Game on Oct. 10.

The school’s seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams, known as St. Pete’s, held the event with help from parents, students, and community members, selling popcorn, chips, water, and handmade bracelets.

A 50/50 raffle and donations from the audience also contributed to the effort.

The teams raised $1,064.66, which will go to the UW-Stevens Point Lemon Club, an affiliate of Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The group helps local children battling cancer.

The funds raised at the event are earmarked for Hero Emmett, a local child battling leukemia.
