LEWISTOWN — St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will hold a concert this weekend to help raise money for Shelter Services.
“St. Mark’s is delighted to share an afternoon of music, fellowship and food with our neighbors,” said Pastor John Hardwood.
Penn State School of Music graduate and previous soloist for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Josh Evert returns to perform alongside talented musicians to bring back the summer hits from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.
The indoor summer concert is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14 at 21 South Main Street, There will be an ice cream social to follow.
Joining Evert will be piano and organ player Jonah Glunt, as well as Caden Werner on drums, James Edreth playing the trumpet and Nicholas Bove on jazz keys.
“Our goal for the concert is to bring the joy of live music to the community. We are also raising funds to support Shelter (Services),” said Hardwood.
These concerts are free to the public but donations to support Shelter Services will be accepted. The Shelter provides housing for people who are homeless.
A second concert is slated for 2 p.m. Aug. 11, featuring Kaley Yeager, another graduate from the School of Music at Penn State. Yeager will perform a series of Broadway classics, alongside Jonah Glunt who will be on piana and the organ.
Yeager is the current soloist for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
