What’s New In Investments, Funds? – Thornburg Investment Management

The latest news in investment offerings, financial products and other services relative to wealth advisors and their clients.

Thornburg
Investment Management
, a global investment firm overseeing
$44 billion in assets, has just had four funds authorised by the
Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for retail distribution
in Hong Kong.

They include: Thornburg Investment Income Builder Fund; Thornburg
Strategic Income Fund; Thornburg Limited Term Income Fund; and
Thornburg Global Opportunities Fund.

The launch marks Thornburg’s first product introduction to retail
investors in Hong Kong. The firm’s continued expansion in Asia
follows the September 2023 launch of the Thornburg Limited Term
Income (UCITS) Fund in Taiwan.

“Introducing four funds to the retail market in Hong Kong is part
of our broader plan for business expansion in Asia and
strengthens our global distribution growth strategy,” Jonathan
Schuman, head of international at Thornburg, said in a statement.

Thornburg’s Investment Income Builder Fund (UCITS) aims to
provide investors with a level of income which exceeds the
average yield on US stocks generally. The fund, which will
grow, subject to periodic fluctuations, over the years on a per
share basis, is managed by Matt Burdett, Brian McMahon, Ben Kirby
and Christian Hoffmann, the firm added.

Thornburg’s Strategic Income Fund (UCITS) aims to provide
investors with a high level of current income, as well as
providing some long-term capital appreciation. It is managed
by Lon Erickson, Christian Hoffmann, Jeff Klingelhofer and Ali
Hassan.

Thornburg’s Limited Term Income Fund (UCITS) aims to provide
investors with as high a level of current income as is consistent
with the safety of capital through investments in US
dollar-denominated short/intermediate investment grade bonds. It
is managed by Lon Erickson, Christian Hoffmann and Jeff
Klingelhofer.

Finally, Thornburg’s Global Opportunities Fund (UCITS) aims to
provide investors with long-term capital appreciation by
investing in equity and debt securities of all types from issuers
around the world. It is managed by Brian McMahon and Miguel
Oleaga.

Thornburg was founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA in 1982. The
firm established Thornburg Investment Management (Asia) Limited
in 2019 as a Hong Kong-based regional office to serve clients
across Asia.
