WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — Downtown West Salem is transforming into a street party tonight to raise money for the West Salem Cares Giving Fund, an organization dedicated to helping community members navigate financial hardship.
Leonard Street will host live music, a kids area, sidewalk sales, raffles and games throughout the evening. All proceeds from the event will go directly to West Salem Cares, which provides assistance to people living or working in the community who face unexpected difficulties.
“This is our annual fundraiser for West Salem Cares, we take care of people in our community or who work within our community — and if they fall upon hardships we can help them out a little bit to keep going on,” said Dana Scherer-Hass, treasurer of West Salem Cares.
The Bland Blue Collar 40 will take the stage at 7 p.m., providing entertainment for attendees throughout the evening.
For those unable to attend the event in person, West Salem Cares organizers say supporters can still contribute by visiting the West Salem Cares Facebook page to make a donation.
