Dorothy Ellen (Dollar) Book, 85, passed away on Aug. 25, 2026. A cherished resident of Runaway Bay, and most recently La Vernia.
Dorothy was born on Feb. 5, 1941, in Yarnaby, OK. She married her beloved, Jan Book, in 1972 and together they shared a life filled with love and companionship.
Dorothy’s passions included quilting and golfing — activities through which she built many enduring friendships. Known for her warmth and attentiveness, she was a wonderful listener and never met a stranger. Her generous spirit left a lasting impact on those who knew her. More than anything, she dearly loved her grandchildren, and she knew that they loved her. The grandkids always looked forward to their reunions at the Book home.
Survived by son, Ronnie McCoy (Alice); daughters, Rhonda Weghorst (Jim) and Jana Holm (Morgan); 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sue Jones.
Predeceased by parents, Eugene and Melba Wyoma (Wesberry) Dollar; her husband, Jan Book; grandsons, Christopher Eric Riley and Kenneth Wayne Torsten McCoy; and her brothers, Duddle Dollar and Billy Ray Dollar, Sr.; along with her brother-in-law, Billy Joe Jones.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, beginning at noon, at Yarnaby Cemetery, Yarnaby, OK. You may register condolences online at www.geojcarroll.com.
