Family Dollar manager attacked after robbery in Fort Worth


The assault and robbery happened on April 21 at the Fort Worth store in the 1700 block of Sycamore School Road.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A young man stole several items from Family Dollar and assaulted the store manager before he got away, police said.

The assault and robbery happened at about 8:20 p.m. on April 21 at the store in the 1700 block of Sycamore School Road, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

In a social media post, the department said the suspect entered the store with two other men and stuffed merchandise into his hoodie pocket. He then reportedly left the Family Dollar without paying for the items.

Officers said the store manager confronted the man outside of the store, and the suspect punched him in the head several times, causing him pain and injury.

The department shared a surveillance image of the suspect, believed to be 17 to 19 years old and wearing a red hoodie with black pants.
