Foley Hoag is pleased to announce that Anna Dodson has joined the firm as a partner and co-chair of its Debt Finance Practice. Dodson will be based in the firm’s Boston office.
Dodson brings experience advising sponsors, borrowers, lenders, private equity funds, credit funds, and other non-bank lenders on complex debt financing transactions across the capital structure. Her practice spans leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, restructurings, structured financings, subscription-backed and NAV facilities, asset-backed liquidity solutions, warehouse facilities, leverage facilities, and securitizations.

Dodson has advised clients through a wide range of transactions and market cycles, including out-of-court restructurings and workouts. She regularly counsels institutional investors, portfolio companies, banks, finance companies, distressed and special situations lenders, and investors in distressed financial assets.

Dodson has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and The Legal 500 for her work in banking and finance. She was also named one of Mergers & Acquisitions’ Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A, an honor recognizing leading dealmakers in the middle-market finance sector.
She maintains an active pro bono practice, and has received the National Public Service Award from the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and the John Quincy Adams Pro Bono Publico Award from the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Dodson earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, a M.A in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, and a B.A. from Wellesley College. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York, and Hawaii, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii.
