The Las Vegas Stadium Authority agreed Wednesday in “a unanimous vote” to give the Raiders $75M in public funds to help pay for a $158M upgrade to the north entry of Allegiant Stadium. The money will be granted out of a fund set up by the 2016 law that provided $750M in public funds toward construction of the $2B Allegiant Stadium. No member of the public spoke against using the money before the meeting began. The Raiders “are responsible for paying the remaining” $83M on the project. The upgrades will include a “public plaza, an event space and an area for ride-hailing operations.” The project would “be built over parking lots B and C at the stadium.” The project includes “a staircase connecting the stadium and Hacienda, allowing more direct pedestrian access to the stadium’s north entrance than the current route” (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/2).
