Midland Public Schools is inviting community members to a series of community information sessions to learn more about the district’s proposed Sinking Fund Millage, which will appear on the Tuesday, November 3, ballot.
If approved by voters, the proposal would establish a 1.5-mill, 10-year sinking fund millage to address projects in three priority areas: student safety and security, necessary repairs to aging infrastructure, and transportation and technology infrastructure replacements.
MPS will host a series of community information sessions throughout September and October to provide information about the proposal and give community members an opportunity to learn more about what the sinking fund could support.

The proposed sinking fund is a component of the MPS Strategic Plan and would support the district’s continued efforts to provide safe, skill-building environments that help prepare students for success in college, careers, and the workforce.
If the proposal is passed, the district has committed to regularly sharing progress and updates and conducting an independent audit of the sinking fund each year.
